We all had a very fun time at my brother Jonathan and Alex’s wedding on the 5th October 2010. The couple were a stunning site and I wish them all the best for the future and many fun family moments we will now all share in. Just thought I would show you some quick amateur shots of the beautiful day. I had the pleasure of getting Mum and my sister and other friends and family ready on the day. P.S Alex you look amazing!

Wedding and Formal Season

A wedding day is considered by many as one of the most important days in a woman’s life. As for formals it may be the first time all dressed up in beautiful flowing colorful formal dresses, with makeup and hair and nails which can spark new excitement to the world of adventure and opportunities as a young youth. I would like to thank all of my clients for letting me share in the excitement of hair and makeup, nails and tans, shaping and waxing brows and lots of lashes of fun. I hope you all had great fun at the special events which you attended or were the center of attention!

Road-Works Finally Complete

After what seems like an enternity, the Hazelbrook road-works are finally complete. In true Blue Mountains fashion, we celebrated with a community party under the bridge. Local MP Phil Koperberg and the NSW Minister for Roads, Michael Daley, opened the underpass this Sunday past.

The local Rotarians were there doing a sausage sizzle and as an added bonus, there was free icecream and coffee. They wouldn’t let me on the jumping castle so I took a photo in front of the firetruck instead.

Just to let you know you still have a couple of days left to use the excuse “I’m late because of the road-works” as the underpass is not yet open to traffic.

My Sister-In-Law and Me

Yesterday my sister in law dropped in for a visit (from London). I’m a bit bummed that she didn’t bring her husband (my brother) with her but not to worry, I’ll see him at christmas. So never one to miss an opportunity, I pulled out a couple of colours from my new De Lorenzo colour range and styled Claire up for a day out. Of course a small photo-shoot is a must, this is my favourite shot.

Andrew is getting pretty good with that camera so my next promotion is something really special. I’m offering a FREE small photo shoot with every full price hair colour till the end October ‘09. Some conditions do apply like booking times and a photo release so call me for more details.

Its’s been a long time coming but they are finally here. I think my husband was more excited than me. He must have had some time on his hands because he took this artistic still-life photo of the delivery boxes. To me that’s slightly disturbing…

Hairdressing 2009 Begins

Drum roll please… after a year of 6am starts, cold winter mornings, stuffy train rides, hectic class schedules and a couple of bleeding fingers, I am proud to announce my completion of Cert III in hairdressing. I can honestly say that I have loved at least every second minute of my college days. Last week I said an emotional goodbye to my teachers, classmates and collected my gold embossed certificate – my husband refers to it as that expensive bit of paper (oh alright my husband has been my biggest supporter, he even insisted on coming with me to take a photo).

This is really an exciting time for me, I have pretty much completed what I set out to do a couple of years back – create my very own Beauty and Hair Salon close to home. I know that I still have a way to go before I’m chopping with the best of them but I know I’m off to a good start. But having said that, I think that my hair colouring skills are pretty darn good, I seam to have clicked with colouring and I really enjoy it. Who knows, I may become a colour specialist…

Last but not least, I would like to thank all my wonderful clients for being so patient with my rotating open times and for being so encouraging and supportive while I have been studying.

Back to normal hours, with a hairdressing emphasis on Tuesday/Wednesday. See you all soon for a Colour and Cut.
